Working without a dedicated press area, our team operated around the ring throughout the event – adapting to shifting positions, low light, and the unpredictable pace of live combat sports to deliver a complete photographic record.
The event was an official boxing match held at VIC Sport Complex – a dedicated combat sports venue in Dubai. We were brought in directly by one of the participating fighters, giving us close access to the action from the start. The assignment covered full event documentation, from pre-bout atmosphere to in-ring action and post-fight moments.
The venue used deliberately low ambient lighting typical of professional fight events, requiring precise exposure settings to freeze fast movement without introducing excessive noise. Boxing generates rapid, unpredictable action – punches, footwork, and clinches – demanding high burst rates and sharp timing throughout each round. With no designated media zone, we positioned ourselves around the ring and continually adjusted angles to maintain clear sightlines without interfering with the event.
